Once upon a time, Angela Bargen was an accountant at an energy company in downtown Calgary. For many years, in between phone calls, meetings and quarterly reports, she would stare out the window of her 29th floor office at the mountains far away on the western horizon. One day, she closed the reports, cancelled the meetings and put down the phone for the last time. The call of the mountains was too strong to resist.
With the help of a personal trainer, Angela began her journey towards getting fit for mountain adventure. The training proved so valuable that Angela decided to become a certified personal trainer so that she could help others live their mountain adventure dreams.
She also has a strong interest in nutrition for endurance and specifically mountain activities. She finds that what you when you’re out for those 16 hour days in the mountains, what you eat and drink makes a big difference to the quality of your experience and your ability to complete your objective.
Angela is constantly researching and learning about how best to train for mountain adventures. She brings that knowledge and her own mountain experiences to every program she designs.
